JMJ Automation uses free 50-tag SCADA software license to show off their hardware.
JMJ Automation, with the help of Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL), has developed a demo unit utilizing VTScadaLIGHT to assist with their sales process. It showcases the amazing SEL 2411P Pump Automation Controller, which is a single unit that can work in both a “pump up” application, like filling tanks via a well, and a “pump down” application, like a lift station that has single, duplex, or even triplex pumps. The demo contains three analog output simulators for the amps of motor one and two and the level of the lift station. Setpoints are entered into VTScadaLIGHT and the 2411P responds by operating flawlessly! It will even fail back to floats should the transducer malfunction. As a bonus of monitoring amps, runtime, and cycles, operators can use this data for preventive maintenance. “Thanks to VTScadaLIGHT, we can test and demo the 2411P to all our potential customers.” Jason Bell, president of JMJ Automation.
Bell continues “Because we had prior experience with VTScada, when the LIGHT version was introduced, we knew it would be perfect for our demo based on the built-in device drivers, drag-and-drop display development, and the built-in SCADA tools like trends and alarms.”
Along with their demo unit, JMJ has also been able to use VTScadaLIGHT to assist smaller utilities “Many smaller utilities only need to monitor one well and one tank. Without VTScadaLIGHT, they wouldn’t be able to afford SCADA. They can run VTScada on an inexpensive Windows 10 mini computer onsite and connect to it remotely using their phones and tablets over the Internet” Bell states.
