Device Driver Library
Connect to any combination of hardware, out-of-the-box.
Includes 100+ standard and proprietary I/O protocols, each with built-in communications alarms. Use OPC by choice, not necessity.
- Included in the base price of VTScada.
- Modbus (many variants), DNP3, GE, DF1, MQTT, Rockwell Ethernet IP, Omron, Siemens, and more.
- Advanced polling features can replace Master PLCs.
- Direct drivers cost less than maintaining OPC servers.

SparkPlug B
Accelerate development by auto-generating tags for edge devices.
Sparkplug B is an open standard that enhances the MQTT protocol for the Industrial Internet of Things. It helps ensure interoperability between devices from different manufacturers by defining a common data formatting standard. VTScada can use Sparkplug B to automatically create tags based on information pulled from compliant PLCs.
- Create a SCADA Host for devices using Sparkplug B using VTScada’s MQTT Client Driver.

Poll Driver
Simplify complex telemetry without a Master PLC.
VTScada’s native polling management allows you to manage complex polling cycles that include telemetry protocols such as DNP3, IEC 60870, Motorola, and DFS. It even supports protocols with store-and-forward, datahopping, and digipeating.
- Advanced tools for real-time poll rate adjustment and fast/slow switching.
- Calculations and Deadband Control to support automated site-to-site interdependency.

MQTT Client Driver
Read and write data from edge-of-network devices.
The MQTT Client Driver can transfer information to and from an MQTT broker, either on your local intranet or on the Internet.
You may then log, view, alarm, and report on values from devices connected to that host in your VTScada system.
Also Supports being a SCADA Host for devices using the Sparkplug B protocol.
- Read data from edge-of-network devices.
- Write data (publish) to edge-of-network devices.
- Subscriber only. Requires third-party MQTT server (a.k.a. Broker).

I/O and PLC Deadbanding
Avoid choking networks and hard drives with meaningless data.
Avoid choking your system with irrelevant data such as minor changes from ripples on a pond.
VTScada’s analog I/O tags boost performance by not logging changes below a chosen threshold.
PLC Driver Deadbands reduce network traffic and CPU performance by eliminating this noise at the device level.
- Set deadband values on the I/O and Logging tabs of the tag configuration dialog.
- Adjust as required.
- Deadbands can be harmful if set too high or too low.
