Seminar Description
Traditionally called SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), our software gathers data from instrumentation to measure such real-world things like on/off status, tank levels, and temperatures, as well as effect control over equipment, such as turning a pump on. With the advent of the Internet, the potential reach and scope of this software has exploded. With this change in scope, the term the Internet of Things (IoT) has been coined.
For nearly 30 years, Trihedral has been developing such software in Nova Scotia with thousands of customers worldwide connecting to millions of data points in real-time. We’ll discuss the basics of our technology and how it fits into the evolution of the Internet of Things.
Trihedral Profile
Started in 1986 in Bedford, Nova Scotia, Trihedral Engineering Limited began with a mission to simplify the interface to real-world industrial equipment, replacing hard-wired switches, gauges and lights with software.
Since that time, the company has grown to have offices in Bedford, Nova Scotia; Aberdeen, Scotland; Orlando, Florida and Calgary, Alberta. Its flagship product is called VTScada and has been awarded the Control Engineering Engineers’ Choice award for best Human Machine Interface software worldwide for 2015.
Trihedral has been recognized as one of the top employers in Atlantic Canada by Maclean’s Magazine for seven years in a row. A highly skilled team of software developers continually improve the product. Trihedral is recruiting new talent to further enhance the capabilities.
The talk will be led by Trihedral president Glenn Wadden, who founded the company and still leads the product development team.
