Workspace for Expressions
Install a Standard Application
Many of the concepts presented in these notes are accompanied by examples that you can try. For these, you will need an application. (Preferably not one that you use for production work.) The V12.1TrainingSimulator, provided with every copy of VTScada, will provide simulated data but because it is a code-free Snapshot, you will not have access to the Idea Studio within it. You can build your own tags, using the Tag Tables for the simulator, which can be found in Appendix A of the Ops & Config course workbook (available from the VTScada website), or you can use the application provided with the Advanced Configuration Course handouts.
These instructions assume that you have a typical VTScada installation, located on your hard drive at C:\VTScada. If not, adjust the file path as required
- Expand the main menu in the VAM.
- Select Add New Application.
- Select the Advanced option.
- Select Next.
- Select Get from ChangeSet.
- Select Next.
- Select the Browse button.
- Navigate to C:\VTScada\Examples
This location assumes that you installed to C:\VTScada.
Use your installation folder if different. - Locate and select the file, V12.1 Training Simulator.snapshot
- Select Open.
- Select Next.
- Ensure that the option, Start application now is selected.
- Select Finish.
The application will be created and will start. You will be able to exit tags and will have access to the simulation. You will not be able to open the Idea Studio.
