Production Volume Reporting (PVR) Process

Several tags are used when defining a PVR report. Some are created automatically, some must be created manually, and some that are created automatically must be configured manually. The process is as follows:

The data for a Production Volume Report comes from the Meter Run Tags within your Flow Computer Tags. Begin by creating a Flow Computer tag and use the tools within it to create that Meter Run tags that will monitor your system.

The structure of a PVR report (that is, the selection of columns of data to display) is defined by PVR Report Entity Tag, which are created automatically when you create and define PVR Report Definition Tags. While the PVR Report Definition tags are created automatically, each must be configured manually. Up to 20 columns may be defined in any definition tag.

Meter Run tags are matched to PVR Entity tags using the Flow Computer properties PVR Report tab of the Flow computer tag. When you run the report, using either the Reports Page or Report Tags, data from the Meter Run tags is extracted and displayed according to the PVR Report Entity tag to which it is linked. Note that for any meter run / report entity match you create, you have further control to select which columns defined in the entity should be used for the matching meter run within the report.

Expressing this as a series of steps, you would do the following.
(Detailed information for configuration referred to in the steps can be found in the topics describing each of the tags referred to.)

  1. Create and configure a Flow Computer tag, and within it the Meter Run tags.
Do not configure the PVR Reporting tab of the Flow Computer tag at this step.
  2. Create a PVR Report Definition tag, and within it select the number of PVR Report Entity tags you plan to use.
If all rows in the report will contain exactly the same set of columns, you need create only one PVR Report Entity tag.
If one section of the report will have a selection of data columns, and another will have a different selection, create two.
You can have up to 20 PVR Report Entity tags within a PVR Report Definition tag.
  3. For each PVR Report Entity tag, open the PVR Report Entity properties Entity Parameters tab and define the columns to be created for this entity's row.
As you work, make a note of which columns (by number) contain what information. You will need this later.
You will have an option later to select which of these columns to use for any meter run being matched to this report entity.
  4. Return to the Flow Computer tag and open the PVR Report tab.
  5. For each meter in this flow computer, select the PVR Report Entity tag that defines which columns to display.
  6. For each of the matches made in the previous step, select the columns to be displayed for that meter.
  7. Save your tag configurations.
  8. To run the report, open the VTScada Reports page and select Oil/Gas PVR Report as the report type.
  9. Select one or more Flow Computers.
Select the Start Time and date for the report.
The end time is configured automatically for the report, relative to the start time.
  10. Select the destination.
  11. Run the report.

You can schedule reports to run automatically and on schedule by using Report Tags.
